3 years after becoming viral and she's still getting hits
Three years ago today, we recorded and shared our video of our pregnancy announcement. Time seems to become a blur after having a child. It speeds up during good moments and tends to slow down going through rough patches. Even before she was born, we always knew that she would be special.
My pregnancy was a shock for us after “taking a break,” from counting days and peeing on sticks. I put more pressure on myself than anyone else. I know this because we kept my fertility issues a secret from our families so we didn't have any additional pressure. Having been diagnosed with PCOS at a young age, I was told by my doctor that I would never have children. Of course many years later working with one ovary, we didn't have high hopes. So when we found out I was pregnant, I was in complete denial and shock. She was a fighter before she was born.
Being pregnant felt like such a miracle that we chose to record everyone in our immediate family’s reaction as a collection for her when she’s older and can appreciate it. The one that seemed to tug on everyone’s heart strings was my grandparents’ reaction. I posted their video on Facebook to announce our pregnancy. It went viral over night. NBC, ABC, CBS and others found me on my social media accounts and started interviewing me on the phone. I remember painting her room and being 5 months pregnant while getting voicemails from people asking if they can get the scoop on her and my family.
She was a celebrity before birth and is currently a cartoon afterbirth.
In honor of our 3 year anniversary of becoming a viral sensation, I figured it would only be right to share this video again. It captured the beauty and love for this little one that seems to follow her wherever she goes.
